- Kjell Persson Murberget is the area of Härnösand in Northern Sweden which is taken up by the county museum. In 1792 a large collection of musical works, mostly manuscripts with a few prints, was donated to the grammar school (gymnasium) to mark the dedication of a new building. The collection now lives at the country museum and David has been busy cataloguing the collection on and off for the past ten years; he discovered very quickly that there's a vast amount of breathtakingly beautiful music hidden among these old notes, and there have been many performances with a great variety of instruments and voices. The plan is that by summer 2005, the catalogue - including examples of the notation and the sounds - will available on the museum's web-site. For now you can read more about the collection at www.New-Renaissance.eenet.ee/laeroverkssamlingen, and about early music in other Swedish libraries at www.New-Renaissance.eenet.ee/early_music_swedish_libraries.
